It's Difficult To Say Goodbye...

...after only one life.

So sad.  I'm beginning to see that Xanga is going the way of the proverbial buffalo and as such, I doubt very much that I will check or update this again.  However, keep up-to-date with me on my mysace (myspace.com/skylinesandarchives) or facebook me or something.  Or just call me.  'Cause I suck at calling you, but not because I don't like you.

In obligatory news, I've moved into an apartment in Richfield, MN with none other than Christian Peterson (and Angela, during non-sleeping hours).

Now I think I've overstayed my 30-minute parking in front of Caribou.  Darn!

Tick Tock, You're Not A Clock...

...you're a time bomb, baby.

In response to all the many, many requests for the "Unplugged" CD, I've put it up online for your listening pleasure on my myspace: www.myspace.com/skylinesandarchives -- just go to the "Sounds Like" section and right-click and save the files.  You need to rename them (helloworld.com, the host, doesn't do so hot on filenames) but that's all.

Okay, g'night.  It's bedtime.

PS -- Is anyone else more than totally excited for the new Mae CD?!

I Just Wanna Wake Up...

in someone else's arms...

'Tis the season for songwriting.  Well, actually it's not yet, but I just saw a photo of a quaint house all covered in the first sticking snow of the year and I got all nostalgic.  Gosh, I hate winter, but there's something artsy about it.  Maybe it's just me.

I am, however, doing my best to write all (mostly) new material for a full band.

Here's to hoping.

In real news, I'm finally back from my year with CTI.  A friend and I are getting an apartment in Richfield (hopefully) and I'll be attending the U this fall (that's U of MN for you non-MN folks).  Thanks to Mr. Lucas Harger and a bunch of my friends, I now have another EP available for the taking.  It's entitled "Unplugged" and will be hitting stores...never.  But!  You can harass me for a copy and I'll be much more likely to get you this one than I was the last.  It sounds better, there are better songs, and you can listen to me ramble on between some of the songs.

Think happy thoughts.

If Looks Could Really Kill...

...then my profession would be staring.

I just bought the Brand New album Deja Entendu from iTunes and I have to say I'm impressed.  I had the album all year thanks to a certain CTI pirating collective that kept everyone's musical tastes up-to-date, but there's something about stealing from fellow musicians that's just wrong, so I'm on a hunt to buy the ones I really liked.  Anyhow, to all of you CTIers who have the album, I suggest you get the real thing.  The copy we all had this year was missing a channel or something and the real deal has a few more tasty bits to it that after 300+ listens, I can pick out.  More than that, the generational loss on the collective copy was quite severe, and only now does it sound like a real album.  Woo hoo for legitimacy!

Speaking of legitimacy, in real news, I'm back in Buffalo for the week to see family, get my guitar fixed, and go to orientation at the U.  Apparently a bunch of very important mail has been arriving for me here at home, that without, I'd have been very lost at orientation.

I get to see my new nephew in a few hours.  And my niece too, that I haven't seen since she started talking.  Just a few more years and I might actually hold a conversation with the little tykes.

I hope you all enjoyed the Open Mic Night video.  If you're in Willmar and you'd like to be at the real deal, I've got shows on the 30th of June and the 11th, 12th, and 20th of July, all in Willmar.  Check out my MySpace for more details: www.myspace.com/skylinesandarchives

Attention! Attention!

...may I have your eyes and ears...?

Ooookay.  I found it.  You can watch the Open Mic Night online any time you want!  To do so, go to www.helloworld.com/hooganaga and click on the little antenna thing that says "shows".  On the left side is a little video section that you can sift through by clicking the "next" button.  Do that a lot.  Seriously, a lot.  Eventually you'll find some videos that are purple and say "open mic" and you'll see my name in 'em.  The first two aren't it.  Go to the third one, it's like 128 minutes long or something.  The beginning is just a shot of a window and some guy talking.  You can right-click and go to "play speed" and make it faster.  Go get something to drink, a little snack, a blanket, and a box of tissues.  You might have time to run to the store too, who knows.  It's about 10 minutes in fast mode until I get up there, but you might enjoy everyone else too, so that all starts about five minutes into the fast mode.  I play three times.  The first is about 10 minutes in, the second is about 45 minutes after that, and the last time is about at the end, after some old guy reads a poem with the words "try some Viagra" in it...yeah.  It stops about half way through the set because the connection was lost, but you can continue in the next one.  It's about four more songs after the break and you get to watch Luke play air drums in the audience.  It's pretty funny.

Pretty soon I'll have my own account to put live shows up on.  You'll be able to see me play mini concerts from my room, from a coffee house, from the street, or from wherever I have a camera and an internet connection.  Live!

Enjoy, eh?
